Bathymetric surveys allow us to measure the depth of a water body as well as map the underwater features of a water body. Multiple methods can be used for bathymetric surveys including multi-beam and single-beam surveys, ADCPs, sub-bottom profiles, and the Eco mapper Autonomous Underwater Vehicle.
We use bathymetric surveys for many different types of research including flood inundation, contour of streams and reservoirs, leakage, scour and stabilization, water-quality studies, dam removal, biological and spill, and storage and fill in reservoirs and ponds.
Provide the surveying and mapping tools necessary to monitor coastline erosion, measure depths and computer volume for dredging projects, locate and map submerged abstractions, and prepare for underwater construction.
Sub bottom profiling
High-resolution sub-bottom systems have been used to detect and measure the thickness of dredged material deposits, detect hard substrate that has been covered by sedimentation, identify buried objects (such as cables and pipelines), and define the basement (or bedrock) layer for potential confined aquatic disposal sites for dredged material.
A beach profile survey is a topographic and bathymetric survey of a beach and adjacent regions. The surveys are conducted along multiple shore perpendicular transects that typically initiate at the dune or other limiting landward feature (may be a wall or road) and extend across the beach and offshore to the depth of closure.
